What’s Your “Current Carrot” On Discouraging Days?
Slightly longer rides this week.
These longer ride days are
HARD!
Relearning, AGAIN, that
Consecutive ten-mile days
Though adding up to nice total,
Don’t immediately translate into
Stamina for 40+ rides.
Would that I could skip
This hard part of reconditioning.
Just make all those “tens” be enough.
It works for me by adding
More miles bit-by-bit.
I know that.
Been here, done that.
Still, times of grumping.
Big time, GRUMPING .
Then — on to riding.
Thinking about what I’m aiming for,
The trip I’m preparing for —
That’s the carrot.
I’m riding longer,
Soon stronger.
