What Task Seemed Too Big?

Two weeks from July 18 until Empire State Bike Tour.

Two 62-mile ride days this week!
Whew! Made me tired & I did it.

At about 45 miles,
I started thinking,
“Too much, I’ll call Bob to bring car.”

As I thought about next describable spot
For being picked up, I realized,
“I can get that far. Then I’ll call.”

At that site, a memorable barn,
I realized I could name the next site for pick up.
I got there!
“What’s the next possibility?”

That continued…. the next? the next?
You know what?
I rode those last 17 miles,
Completing 62 miles,
Under my own steam.
Yippee!

I speak about breaking down lengths / tasks,
Into manageable bits.
Without thinking about that “script,”
That’s what I did!

Experiences from the bike seat,
Apply to many life tasks.

Take baby-steps.
Do bits & pieces.
We will get it done!

Limerick:
When what’s to be covered is too much,
Address the task with your lighter touch.
With increments small,
You can do it all.
Small-bit completion – your wisdom crutch.

Hugs to you,
Lin
