Tending Time
Newark to Camillus, NY: 51 miles
Day 24, Final Day of My Empire State Trail Ride
Wednesday, August 25, 2021
How are you tending your time?
I am so privileged to have been on this trip
Choosing what makes my heart sing.
Lucky me.
This has been my last day
Riding & being with this bicycle group.
Always the ending has two sides.
Excitement, thinking about getting home.
Sense of loss, daily riding to that day's destination.
I really like single focus of a bike trip!
From "here" to that day’s "there.”
Satisfaction in completing each day.
Routine in doing same the next day.
I feel it’s like an
"Intentional Bubble" moving from place to place.
Circumstances change each day,
Yet "Bubble-of-bikers" moves with repeating scenario.
Today was hot!
Early departure got us in around 1:30.
Motel rooms not ready.
Our wait was comfortable.
We are housed in a "Tru" motel.
Ultra-modern, spare, hang-out space.
If you have a chance, stop in one & look.
Thanks to each of you for "reading with the riding.”
Hugs,
Lin
Limerick:
A special pursuit that is ending,Reminds me that time I am spending
In some way each day,
Whatever the way,
Is worthy of some careful tending.
