Start Where You Are

Wednesday, September 25, 2024

Whatever path you are traveling,
Make note of how much you are tackling.
Impossible stunt?
Put one foot in front,
Of the other; Yes you are dazzling!

Where are you starting?

“Start where you are,
Use what you have,
And go as far as you can.”

I recently came across this quote.
Many situations where those are
Just the right words to hear.

Certainly they fit in the middle of
Some Bicycle Ride Day.
You start,
Use the energy and time you have,
Go as far as you can.

Then:
Repeat, and Repeat..

With a message like that,
It’s a key to getting where
You want to be,
In your off-bike life too.

Pull it into service forTaking on a project.
Directing a small town Little Theater show.
Learning a musical instrument.
Shepherding an organization's existence.
Mastering a new language.
Knitting a new pattern.

Might be for making your way through
Loss, disappointment, discouragement.
Whatever remaining shred of
Energy you have,
t is the Start for going as far as you can,
For one segment of time.

I'm making a note to me.

Cheer for Myself
For having gone as far as I can,
On any day.

Hugs,
Lin

Do what you can with what you have.

There might be flowers along the way ...
