Smoothing Edges
Wednesday, April 2, 2025
Those times when I’m needing bike riding,
To view what I see while trail-gliding,
I feel with my heart.
'Tis a better start—
For time that is real help-providing.
What shifts and clears your view?
Rounding out my time in Sequim,
I rented a bicycle for five days.
Good finale.
As Nick, a bicyclist, said to me...
"Biking smooths out the edges."
During first part of our Sequim stay,
I kept my time and focus on
Sorting, clearing, moving items
To their new place for reuse / recycle.
"Head-down,” single-minded,
I got to my objective for that day.
(Kind of like covering that day's bike-trip miles).
Bulk of items
Shredded, gifted, donated,
It became clear ...
I was doing that out of
MY operational mode.
In my zeal, there's
Not much space for
Reviewing what it meant to
Remove and change closet contents,
Drawer arrangements,
Shelf offerings.
A difficult encounter
Reminded me this is
Grief time, foremost.

Left:Giant forsythia, Upper Right: Visiting Sequim: Earnie, Lindy, Lin and Bob, Lower Right: Array of sorted bike stuff to be re-homed.
What clears my view?
Brings me to calmer outlook?
Riding briskly, requiring me to
Focus on a trail, pedaling, that destination.
Biking is my shift.
I'm riding daily now.
Noticing spring blooms,
Morning sunlight on mountain peaks.
Have you seen that?
Sunbeams creating shimmering white light
Streaming from 8,000 ft Olympic peaks?
WOW!
Pedaling is my go-to.
Smoother edges,
Happy miles,
Lucky me.
Hugs,
Lin
