Saying yes again

Next "stage" of our Northern MN bike trip

Sunday, August 5, 2018

Hello Friends,

This next "stage" of our bike trip
Was riding portion of Willard Munger Trail.
This trail is Lo-o-o-ng, Twin Cities to Duluth, MN.

Our ride was thirty miles
Duluth -> Carleton-> Duluth.
Excellent resource for area,
Many folks using trail,
Even with very warm day.

Trail passes through some massive cuts in rock,
"Rock tunnels" without top enclosure.
Imagine what it took to make those cuts for the railroad
To pass through…
Fun to be riding.

I was thinking about "reporting" Ride Days.
"Nice trail, fun to be riding, makes me happy."
The end. Boring.

In my life, when one goes to meet friends,
Check-in is shortest from person whose life is going well.
Often least interesting.

Made me wonder,
What's made the shift for me in last few weeks?

From feeling
Alienated,
Unengaged,
Dispirited,

To being able to reemerge to this pleasant life with boring reports?

Not sure.

There was finally getting help by making
Appointment for, and receiving a hands-on therapy which I know helps me.
There was a lighthearted, fun connection with family around planetarium visit and ice cream.
There was recommitting to bike trips Bob and I talked about. I did motel reservations.

There were two conversations each with a different wise woman,
Pointing out that while my different interest and stamina shift
May affect formal bike trips participation,
And change my story,
My story is still worth telling.

That was BIG to hear.
Important for me to assimilate.
I'm still working on that.

As I write, I "hear" some of my FIVE keys
For saying "Yes.”
Yes to doing at whatever level matches one's point in life.

Sending love and hugs to each of you,
Lin
