Rewards of Noticing

Wednesday, September 13, 2023

What unique, colorful person/point of view
Can be found,
If taking time to notice?

Noticing, Noticing.
My reminder to myself has been “Notice.”

Opportunities for that abound!

Most fabulous noticing was
Science Museum, St. Paul, MN
Exhibit by Christopher Marley, visual artist.

He makes art with creatures—
Bugs, reptiles, all sort of natural things.

Talk about making me notice!
Those little, some little-bitty, things,
Have gorgeous color,
Fantastic shapes,
Each unique to its group.
Bringing a level of beauty I have never noticed.

I am opened to looking with an expanded eye.
Not to say I don’t shy away from
Some creepy-crawly;
Or skirt a menacing looking creature in my path.

I know there is beauty to appreciate
Color, shape, brilliance,
If I soften my gaze enough to notice,
And take time to do that.

Probably applicable to wide variety of
People or responses I turn from.

I’ll keep my eyes open, My Friends.

Hugs.
Lin

Limerick:

Did you know that bugs have such beauty?
Some usual looks, and some snooty.
With colors so bright,
Add brilliance and light.
Do notice their visual booty!

Oh what a fascinating exhibit — I want to go see this, is he the one who did the bird that you are standing in front of too? And what a beautiful perspective, thank you 🙂

Jill, Yes, the giant bird is one of Christopher Morely’s displays. Show closed in Minneapolis on September 4th. Watch for his name in other places.
    You will love it!
