Returned From Northwest

Back Home In Northfield, MN

Saturday, April 20, 2019

Hello Friends,

Northwest time gave such variety:
Biking, Visiting, Speaking, Flowers,
Wahoooo!

Two sunshine-filled biking days,

Several blocks ridden in drizzle
Last day before returning borrowed bike.
Even that was satisfying,
Yet not my choice for usual bike weather.

Probably good thing to ride in some rain,
I tend to idealize Northwest—
Really, it’s about the people who welcome me there.

Sequim Public LIbrary hosted my talk
Thursday, April 18.
Fun, Fun for me to tell my story,

Sing a couple of songs "fitted" with bike lyrics I've imposed,
Hear bits of stories from individuals,
Mostly about events expanding his/her life.
Privilege for me.

Small-world piece ... Sequim is home of
Jennifer Johnson whom I met on Northern Tier ride 2010.
We met for breakfast—
Great time sharing, comparing bike stories.

Even long day travel home Sequim -> Northfield
Held good window views and helpful people.

Public transport all the way,
Sequim shuttle -> SEATAC airplane -> bus -> home.
Can't always construct that.
When it works ... it pleases me.

My next scheduled talk is in Winona, MN, May 22.
If you are in the vicinity, please come.

"Aha" from this trip:
I like to bike,
I like to tell my biking story,
I like that some are motivated to "take on" what they want to do.
I like to hear people's stories.

When bike conditions are good,
I smile inside,
That makes me see my life with gratitude.

Visits of mutual attention
Thoughtful sharing,
Are treasures. Those make me smile inside also.

What gifts.

Hugs to each of you,
Lin
