Bike trips have SO many
Learning Opportunities!
Self-Care is definitely one.
I get embarrassed to report that I didn't
Bike ALL miles.
My after-lunch decision to get driven in
By SAG in van—
Very smart.
Post lunch, climbing back
On bike to complete miles,
Wobbled all over the road trying to start uphill.
Decided I was a danger to myself,
Plus, all vehicles sharing my road.
Asking for help,
Being tuned in to what's really possible,
Great Learning options.
Morning was combo of beautiful scenery,
Unexpected detours,
Consulting maps for other options.
Roads under construction, one lane.
Flag lady at one spot held traffic in both directions,
Until all 15 riders were through one-lane area.
Helpful for riders & drivers!
I walked up many hills today.
Muscles for walking uphill, pushing a bike,
Different than muscles
Used to pedal on the road.
I'm sore this evening.
And I'm healthy, safe,
Pleased to have done as well as I did today!
My daughter reminds me
That doing what we love
Is often difficult.
Making it all the more satisfying.
I told her to write it down and send it to me!
Here it is for you, too.
Hugs,
Lin
Limerick:
When mileage you're riding is tricky,
It is not the time to be picky.
Your ego's not part.
You do what is smart.
And you'd better do it quite quickly!
