One Thousand Cannon Valley Drive

Fun, Food, and Insights

Thursday, August 31, 2017

Hello My Friends,

Sunday I got to talk to 19 folks at their place:
One Thousand Cannon Valley Drive.

I had fun.
My favorite benefit of
"Being Old Gal Who Bikes" is
I get to tell people about it!

Rapt attention,
Appreciative chuckles,
Thought-filled questions,
Kept me feeling up-beat,
Delighted with opportunity.

When asked,
"Have you ever done very long solo trip?"
I could share that,
It has been longing I now know is
Fantasy…

Fantasy is I want to cross continent on my own,
Maybe even Alaska to Patagonia by myself.

It’s true—I like to ride alone.
Most training riding I do alone,
Liking the quiet of solo ride,
Independent pace,
Just pedaling.

Yet I know from very long trips,
At end of ride day,
Being with another who has
Stretched putting out similar effort,
Lets me smile with that sharing.

I admire personal strength of solo journey,
Wishing I had that.

Realizing that
Adventure shared—
Each day's challenging effort,
Satisfying completion together,
Is shape I want for my rides.

Unexpected bonus:
Talks provide insights for me!

Hugs to each,
Lin

Out riding: stopped at country crossroad east of Northfield.

Experiment with selfies... Friday ride, cloudy day.

Loving this weather for short daily rides! Seize the day!

Going to my cherished Wed. am group of women friends after a ride.
