Off To A Fine Start

Sunday, May 19, 2024

When riding conditions are "stellar,"
It seems that there is nothing "sweller,"
Than riding your bike!
It is what you like,
Described as a glowing bestseller.

Mankato to Madison Ride–Day 1

Mankato, MN to Faribault, MN
Route sheet showed 38.2 m, I rode 40.9 m

Great start for my ten-day bike-trip.

Departed Motel Six in Mankato this morning.
This Motel Six was Great!
Nothing that fit my old stereotype of that chain.
Building was new, clean, energy-efficient, pleasant.

There are six of us on this part of ride.
Ken and Nancy, from VT, Who own / are the bike company.
Margaret G from Wash D.C., Hope from NH,
John G from OR, Lin from MN.
Nancy rides a pedal-powered recumbent.
John, Ken, Lin ride more conventional pedal-powered bikes.
Hope and Margaret ride eBikes—which will be enviable in Bluff Country.

Route was the Sakatah Singing Hills Bike Trail.
In good repair, only slightly-up hills,
What a fun and encouraging way to start any bike trip---
With all of us doing very well.

You may know that right on the Trail,
Is a Dairy Queen.
Since it was only six miles from end of our ride,
That was the stop.
What a fine way to visit—Over ice cream.

I'm happy.
Yes, indeed—I'm happy.

Hugs,
Lin
