New Time, New Possibility

Because I'm still Awed by the
New year bringing us New Time,
Today I'm sending
This 4 year-old, 2021 New Year's post.

The thought of "inching toward Greater"
Still conjures "possibility" for me.
Today is time for the reminder.

We've moved into a new year!

I always think it is amazing that
Midnight, Dec. 31 leads into
Newly named time slot.

When I was ten years old,
I dashed outside New Year's morning,
Filled with wonder that we had a NEW time.
I shouted up to the sky,“
"This time is new!
It’s called 1949!”

None of adults were very interested.
Certainly not AWED by this calendar change.

That is up to each of us.

Each morning can look exactly
Same as preceding one.
Or—we can "inch" toward "greater.”"
Greater" strength, flexibility, mileage, knowledge.

I like the thought of "inching toward Greater” …
Appreciation, connection, understanding, curiosity.

I'm joining the ten-year-old mind set.
Beginner-eyes as I make my way into this
New Year.

May your beginner-eyes
Light up with possibility.

Hugs,
Lin

Limerick:

This year contains possibility,
Expansion of some capability.
Let your mind go free.
You'll find you can be
Happy with your changeability.
