National Bike Week

Lake City Public Library, MN

Saturday, May 20, 2017

Hello My Friends,

National Bike Week this week!
My talk in Lake City
Part of their attention to bicycling.

Lovely audience of about dozen
Attentive listeners.
Thoughtful questions let me
Expand my stories,
Share experiences.

Appreciation for
Librarian, Stacie Falvey,
Setting up talk gig.

Original plan was biking to Lake City for talk,
Then onward for biking weekend for Bob and me.
HEAVY rain for consecutive days,
Cancelled "ride to speak" plan.

If I am in midst of long destination ride,
I'll don rain gear and ride.
Really though, for fairly short trip,
I'm a Fair Weather biker.

"Tour de Wyoming" Ride next talk.
I'm speaker for evening July 16, 2017,
Wheatland, Wyo.
Open to public if you are close by!

September 11th, I have invitation:
Fall meeting of Operating Room Nurses State Meeting.
I'm delighted to be asked to tell my story to that group.

Planning for us, Bob and me, to ride some MN loop
Coming together, not yet gelled.

Bob immersed for many hours
Maps, paper and computer,
Setting route.

Then finding lodging places
Along route,
Big part of "is route possible ?"
We do not camp.

Departure date will be June 16.
Returning June 30.

Next step is my contacting motels, resorts
Making reservations.
Summer vacation area of MN
Needs sure lodging plans,
(for our calm)
Even for just two people.

Hugs to you,
Lin

P.S. Starting calling has already
Put me in touch with
Kindness.

Owner of high price lodge
Suggested trying
"Gosh Dam" motel up the road.
Sure enough,
Just what we need, now
Reserved for us at "Gosh Dam!"

Limerick:
Plowed fields are gushing excessive rain,
Thoughts of wet biking bring my disdain.
I choose to stay dry
I will tell you why.
Dry keeps me smiling and very sane.

Love these post-presentation interactions!

Fun interchange with audience member

Isn't this a wonderful space?
