Many Faces of Help

Wednesday, December 14th, 2022

When not knowing how is impeding,
And gets in the way of proceeding,
The best thing to do,
To get your new view …
Get Help for your road to succeeding!

Are you asking for help?

You know one of my Five “Shifts” is
Ask For Help!
So often difficult.
My childhood taught
We must be able to handle “it”
By ourselves.

Asking for help
Is an expansion that can enhance most days—
In obvious and subtle ways.

Easy to notice on a bike trip,
Where getting help can mean
Staying on route, or
Having bike tinkered for best function.

What about in everyday life?
This week I’ve noticed where
Asking for help is serving me well.

Near top of my personal
“Help-My-Morale” list:
Riding the stationary bike nearly daily.
Boring?  I enlisted help in the form of a book.
Reading while pedaling—not bad.

I bought a new-to-me computer.
There’s a help-needed learning spot
That will be ongoing for some time.

I took a class on origami box-folding.
Who knew making straight folds,
Following those fold-lines,
Could be so challenging
And result in such cool boxes, even lids!
Help from skilled teacher made it work.

Working together, Bob and I
Completed seasonal job of
Sending “Christmas” letters.
Sharing a task is definitely
Help.

This “get-help” thing
Expands my life.

So, my Read-Along-With-Lin buddies,
Ask for the help you need in all ways.
It is Very BRAVE to ask for help.

Be brave—Ask.

Hugs,
Lin

Addressing & adding notes to our Christmas letter mailings.
Origami box folding. Challenge for me!
With help, I got it! Fun to make boxes.
Boxes from the Origami Boxes class.

I too have recently learned to make oragami boxes – such fun and another way to use old or unwanted calendar pages. We sold boxes at my church fair/bake sale for $1 each with ideas of small gifts to put inside.

Thanks for sharing that, Hope! What a colorful and fun way to serve your church community! 🙂
