Making Decisions

Wednesday, June 12, 2024

When needing to make a decision,
Your mind provides you with a vision;
Of outcome that’s best.
You don’t know the rest!
Your guess is the closest precision.

What does your decision process look like?

I’ve learned that my decisions have two parts,
Both of which I want.

Each part has what I would choose,
So letting go of one brings
A sense of loss—
Sadness that that option
Isn’t part of my game now.

Getting to a spot of
Being okay with the sad part of choice
Lets me notice what is possible.

So—

Having decided to bike only ten days,
(Whole trip was five weeks)—
Reentering home activities,
First I grieve not still being on bike trip.
Then I’m reminded that I have lucious possibilities.

There is biking from home;
Which has been affected by weather.
Just as it was on my “official” bike-trip days.

No-bike rain days,
And more rain; flooded farm fields.
Even covered some roads
With mud and last year’s field detritus.

Places that looked like fishing meccas
Are actually crop-land for this year’s planting.

I’ve gone on a wonderful outing to “Banbury Cross.”
Space filled with color that makes me
Feel like dancing.
An amazing combination of high energy color
In midst of basic calm.
Such a happy destination.

My crux of real reentry:
Visits with friends, and family.
Often one-on-one.
Those are heart-connections that
Anchor my life in joy.

Lucky me.

Hugs,
Lin

Lin
We miss you as we bike on – in Ontario now, beautiful accommodations in two port towns along Lake Erie.
I love marimekko fabrics too.
