Have you noticed?
How much darker early morning is?
To "Crazi" at seven a.m. for breakfast
Beautiful sunrise over town's lovely lake,
Bonus for day.
Guidebook described 19 miles paved trail,
Between Hutchinson and Winsted.
Yippee! Realizing paved trail is favorite.
Being in Winsted, that was our start point.
Following signs to Luce Line Trail,
Led to field of two-foot-high weeds,
Single track being "trail.”
Determined effort for about mile.
Retraced track to town, being miffed.
Info did NOT match real thing.
Did see some pretty fall flowering weeds!
Bikes on car rack,
Drove to Hutchinson to find that end of trail.
Rode trail Westward for ten miles.
Turned around sooner than had thought.
Another very hot day,
Heat index reaching high nineties.
In town and on edge, Luce Line Trail follows Crow River,
Through lengthy river side park,
Past historic plaques and monuments.
It is lovely.
Bob and I were again careful
Riding in such high heat shortened miles.
Very Smart for each of us.
Adjunct learning for me ...
If town is having their annual festival,
Continue trip to someplace at least thirty miles away for food.
Hutchinson's annual festival in full swing,
Wait for restaurant lunch,
Nearly snapped my short patience string.
Those of you who interact with me
Know "Patience is NOT my Virtue."
Home in Northfield by late afternoon,
Having had okay two day ride,
Having shared a FUN outing...which is whole point.
Lucky folks, I say!
Hugs to each of you,
Lin
