Living Fully

Wednesday, June 19, 2024

Good start for my day is “bike-moving.”
It sorts out my mind so it’s grooving.
Add in that it’s fun,
And when I am done,
My outlook’s already improving!

What are your keys to living fully?

Days of outside rides midst green growth,
Days of inside stationary bike midst white walls.
All in dedication to strong pedaling muscles.

Really, as I have told you,
Biking is my mental-health activity.
Very important to maintaining
Positive outlook for my days.

Lucky me, that there is
Something so simple I can do.

Add in some focused
One-on-one visits with
Like-minded friends and folks…
My life is rich.

I attended a funeral this week.
Emotional and honoring.
Acknowledging unthinkable loss
And soul-searing grief,

Holding up the life-fullness
With which this person had
Lived their short years,
We carried away a powerful message.

Life has its unknown time-line.
Live fully.

Savor and appreciate
Each day you have.

Let’s do that.

Hugs,
Lin

Lin, I appreciate that you called your biking “Mental Health activity” — even in when we have to do it indoors. It’s easy to get a bit down when the weather doesn’t want to cooperate with our desire to be outdoors and exercise. But exercise either way is good for the mind and body. I’m blessed to be able to get back with it after having to comply by doctors orders and “take a break.” Thank you for your reminder of that and how important it is to LIVE OUT OUR DAYS to the fullest! Funerals teach us so much …

My association with you, both professional and personal, is one of the big, fat, blessings in my life! Thanks, Jill!
