Life Sparks

Brilliance among quieter days

Wednesday, September 23, 2020

Hello My Friend!

What "spark" did you plan for yourself?

Spark in my life—
Fun, spirit-lifting outing—
A trailhead site in Houston, MN,
Root River Trail.

Biking had been "gathering prompt.”
Picnicking, reconnecting, playing,
With extended family,
Proved most important.

Total bike miles: SIX.
Total reconnect value: immeasurable.

Ezra, six & half, only recently deciding
Biking worth learning,
Zipped down trail.
River, turned nine, right with him.

Racing through every puddle,
Zigzag width of trail.
Little bikes that can stop-on-a-dime,
And did!

Old biker response sharp enough,
No pile-ups.

Precious time.
Food, bikes, great playground,
Visiting together.
Lucky me.

Biking toward my season milage goal,
Second one thousand by mid Oct.,

Meant chance to relearn
Layering, for chilly temps!

That's an art I seek to perfect.
Each year, I practice.

Hugs to you,
Lin

Lin – I loved this, what an important reminder about taking time for relationships even in the midst of ones driven goals 😉 I can’t get over how much Rose looks like YOU! So fun to see pics of your family too.

Though it is one of my “how-to” items–connecting with others–it is an area I am always thrilled at how much joy it gives me. When I get off-balance, I have to remind myself to connect. I’m grateful the reminder served you.
