Goal Achieved and My Next Big Thing

From 1000 miles to 1000 women

Sunday, July 28, 2019

Hello My Friends,

My Internal WaHoo!” on Friday, July 27,
Reaching my bike mileage goal of 1000 miles.
Goal, set May 3, was to ride one thousand by end of Sept.
I have two months to spare!

This did show me again
How one-bit-at-a-time moves me forward.
Some day's rides were 2 miles,
Some longer,
They added up.

But lessons learned don’t always translate!
It's very clear to me when I am adding daily miles,
Not obvious to me when my "one-bit" is
Figuring out where / who / how to ask
For speaking engagements.
This challenge is a Lo-o-o-o-n-g Learning Curve.

Now my “Next Big Thing:”
(For me a "scary different scene")
First week August in Dallas, Texas,
Annual eWomen conference.
One thousand members gather
To connect, learn, revitalize
Their business pursuits.

My business pursuit:
Speaking to groups about my experience
Stretching farther than I knew I could,
Learning I had lots of personal possibility.
Inspiring others to make their own "Stretch.”

I'm planning on wearing my personalized bike shirt.
In midst of Business Attire,
High-viz bike garb ...
Memorable.

Being oldest woman attending
Is noticeable.
Add the high-viz….
At least "obvious!”

I'm pretty nervous.
Reminds me of taking first bike ride.

I made it through that.
I can do this ....

Never know what I will learn,
What ripples will happen from connections made.

Hugs and encouragement to each of you,
Lin

Limerick:

To shine, and to not go in hiding,
(For me so much simpler bike riding!)
I'll wear a high-viz,
And smile like the "miz",
Whose ride stories prompt their deciding.

Congratulations, Impressive goals.
To be seen or not to be seen? That is the question. You’ll be seen and heard encouraging others to be.

Wow I am so proud of you, I am encouraged by the stretch, it has helped me tremendously.
You are a amazing friend for whom I am grateful for.
