Fitness Tricks

Wednesday, January 15, 2025

When launched on your pathway to fitness,
And you are your only eye witness—
Will you follow through?
Do what you must do?
Be wary of moving to quit-ness!

What’s in your bag of tricks?

I was thinking about my stationary bike goal.
Already I recognize that some days,
I'd rather not make time for that riding.
It's pretty easy to rationalize
Something else as more important.

Right now, the log sheet of pedaled miles
Is prompting me to
Pedal, write miles, be glad
To be on track.

Seeing the entries
Add toward my goal is enough, now.

Down the line, I'll probably pull out
Bag of tricks.

You know the sort...
Pedal before you get to open "exciting" messages.
Reading some riveting story that
Can be read only while pedaling.
Story pulling you back to the bike seat.

Have a buddy
a phone call
a reward...
Whatever works for you.

Reward: Chair seat re-caned by hand. Beautiful work!

Let's each know that your pathway to fitness
Is worthwhile.
Keep at it.
It matters.

Hugs,
Lin

Good morning, Lin, today I appreciate:

-your truth-speaking limerick – beware of quit-ness;
-suggestions of tricks to motivate;
-the great. photos of Bob and you;
-tradition of working on a Christmas puzzle.

I also complete a Christmas puzzle each year. FUN.
Have a good day!

Lin –
True words.
I’ve kept up my stationary bike time each day since the first of the year – except when I’m away from home which is 5 days so far – yikes that is 33% of the elapsed days this month.
I haven’t started my Christmas puzzle yet – I’ve promised myself I will finish making/sending my holiday cards first. Nine more to go.
Hope

    Congratulations on being so consistent! What helps you?
    Sounds like you are using that puzzle as an incentive and delayed gratification! 🙂
