Celebrating
Lockport to Brockport, NY: 46 miles
Day 22 Empire State Trail Ride
Monday, August 23, 2021
You know those days when you’re perfectly
In the Flow and everything’s great?
That was today.
Forty miles on bike trail,
MY picture of ideal biking.
Of course, conditions were very fine.
Gentle tail wind, slightly downhill,
Overall good surface.
NO turns, no chance of getting lost!
This trail had hard-pack soil base,
Topped with thin layer of pea gravel.
Mostly intact surface made biking
Very manageable.
In fact, because I had
Pulled onto trail before others,
I was leading our "pack" of riders.
Very unusual!!!
If I can have this perfect day,
You can have your version
Of a dream day doing what you love!
Here's to saying "yes!"
Today is BIG in another way ---
Today is Bob's and my 62nd anniversary.
When we married,
I couldn't even imagine decades.
Now, "faster than we know,”
All this time has passed.
I'm looking forward to each
Shared day we have to come.
Hugs,
Lin
Limerick:
On trail that is flat and unbending,With conditions that are all lending,
To my happy ride.
I'm smiling inside.
It's fun, from the start to the ending!
