The day isn’t what you expected—
The time seems adversely affected.
Expanding your view,
Of what you could do,
Reveals things as “wisely selected.”
Whatever your task that needs doing,
Whatever the trail that you’re viewing,
When ending the day,
May you get to say,
“It really was worth the pursuing.”
Task’s lost momentum, I think I’ll quit.
Inner self will surely throw-a-fit.
So what can I do,
To see the task through?
Now is the time I can recommit.
What happens when you are assuming?
When you’re sure you know, you’re presuming?
Your not checking facts,
Adversely impacts,
A chance that might not be resuming.
My body and mind had conspired,
Which made me feel achy and tired.
I found that the best,
Was hours of rest.
Seems just what my psyche required.
Have you had a time of “help-needing?”
When you thought you soon would be pleading,
For someone to do
A big job for you?
But help came! Your worry receding.
With things feeling heavy & funky.
An outlook that’s all dark & gunky.
A giggle or two,
Will help you renew,
A viewpoint that’s lighter & spunky.
Training for this bike ride,
Should have been 50% daily walking up some very steep hill,
Pushing my bicycle!
Today’s hills were killers.
Even Stan, who is extremely strong,
Actually, strongest rider,
Talked about the consistent
Hills of 10% to 14% grade.
How do you know you are
Showing up “Loud and Proud?”*
I have “cool” new bike shirt,
High-viz orange-red, SPF 50.
Grey days are hard for me,
Damping down my optimism.
Canceling out thoughts of
Positive action.
When I was ten years old,
I dashed outside New Year’s morning,
Filled with wonder that we had a NEW time.
I shouted up to the sky,
“This time is new!
It’s called 1949!”
How do you trust your route?
How often are our paths winding?
Unsure, rough and gravelly?
Connection to next part unclear,
Yet arriving at place that
Is start of continuing journey.
