Beginner Eyes

Finding the Spark in the Ordinary

Wednesday. August 19, 2020

My dear friend,

How do you see variety in “the usual?”
That's a question for me these days.

Usual tasks,
Usual routes,
Usual timing,
Can take on "usual" color,
Without attention.

Maybe that's it for now!
"Attention.”

Renaming,
Minor location shift,
Wearing the bike socks that match the shirt,
Noticing new blossoms along bike trail,
Watching runners who show up daily.

Recurring weekly ride on Sakatah Trail
Became fresh "date" for us.

Bob and I rode extra blocks in
Waterford, a sometimes turn around point.
Added in different scenery.
Noticed increasing autumn leaves on trail (already!)

Ordered take-out food from favorite
"First of Thai.”
Changed eating spot to
Patio at our building
Beside lovely pots of flowers.

Bit of difference,
Made it special rather than "repeat.”

Lots of variety from Farmer's Market.
That's a "color-filled" part of life right now.

Hmmm, I can tell I need to remember
"Beginner Eyes"
No "usual" with beginner eyes!

Hugs to you,
Lin
