Almost Rest Day

30 mile day: Started in Pipestone, MN
Elevation 1,736

Wednesday, September 11, 2019

Hello My Friends!

After yesterday’s riding intensity,
Today has been low-key,
Pleasant.

Started the morning with a 12-mile ride
On the Casey Jones Trail
Out of Pipestone—
Bob and I together.

In fact, Bob and I did all biking
Together today.
Delightful!

Recent rains and trail construction
Made for shorter ride.

Unexpected find today:
St. James, MN.
Town with many biking trails
Wonderful discovery!

Staying in a superior Super 8,
Managed by a lovely young woman,
Angela Rath—friendly, helpful.

Receiving lovely service, sincere smiles
And warmth, can make a stay extraordinary.
If you are in St. James,
We recommend Angela’s Super 8!

Angela offered a wealth of information
on St. James biking.
We rode the remainder of our 30 miles
Enjoying flowers, sunshine, and
Each other’s company.

Trying to plan next few days riding
Around significant rain.
Makes more challenge.

I’m always surprised to reencounter
My impatience.
For me, actual physical biking
Easier than plan, wait, change.

Grateful for Bob, and for
The power of asking for help.
He is skilled in planning,
Patience.
He even enjoys change!

Must remember to breathe
Into the impatience, to relax.
Breathing powerful tool,
Simple, always available
.

Stand by to see how rain
And riding weave together...
Sometimes outside challenges easier
Than the inside ones!

Hugs to each of you,
Lin

P.S. With this date's resonance of loss, spending gentle, beautiful time feels honoring of life's preciousness.
