A Different Christmas

The Usual and the Different of Christmas 2020

Wednesday, December 30, 2020

Hello My Friend!

What was different about Christmas for you?

This week held Christmas.
Whatever that holiday means for you,
I wonder if its essence was different this year.

Our obvious celebration medium?
Food!

Choices of special favorites,
Some seasonal,
Some that show up frequently,
All taste treats.

Christmas was white.
Six to eight inches of snow,
Dressed our region to match song lyrics.
For us a reason to appreciate no travel.

Much was usual, yet different.
Christmas Eve service,
Excellent via Zoom.

Phone calls and Zoom calls
From Loved Ones.
Shared gratitude for
Love expressed.

Big gifts in our lives:
Health, shelter, safety, food.
Christmas gave us a special time to

Notice and be grateful.

Now I'm thinking year-end-mulling.
Never much of fan for
Extracting nuggets from year past.

What I know is:
I am not hibernating!
One-day-at-a-time attention
Reveals small steps
To live that day deliberately.

Who knows the treasure
Along the way?

Hugs to you,
Lin

P.S. Leave me your year-end reflection in a comment below!

We've completed our favorite Christmas puzzle, gifted by our daughter many years ago.

Here's our holiday tree this year!
