79-year-old to the rescue

Unexpected angel running down the trail

Wednesday, September 30, 2020

Hello My Friend!

Bob and I came upon a LARGE tree branch
Blocking bike trail.
Off we got to move it aside.
Push, pull, twist, --- progress.
Final need was lifting branch to clear post.
Heavy, heavy, we couldn't lift high enough.

Behind us a voice,
"I'll help. I lift weights twice a week."
The women grasped branch beside us,
Heaved, and it was over.
Out of the way.

Off she went running down trail.
As I passed her on my bike, I commented on
Her weight-lifting strength.

She called out,
"Yep! Pretty good for 79-yrs-old!"

Point of this is
It's Never Too Late.

Strengthen your muscles,
Finish your project,
Start your new activity,
Follow your dream.

Bit-at-a-time,
Yes, You Can!

This week I reached my goal of
One Thousand miles ridden July to Sept 25.

That gives me Two Thousand for this ride season!
I am always amazed that
Consistent effort,
Even small amounts,
Accomplish the task.

Being persistent with riding is easy now.
Weather is mild.

I'm going to keep track of miles ridden
Until I deem it too cold.
I wonder how many I'll accumulate…

Hugs,
Lin

Bob on the bike trail, transformed to the "Yellow Brick Road!"

Gorgeous maple dressed in Autumn's brilliance.

Second 1,000 mile goal of this biking season complete. Daily rides adding up.

Sand hill cranes in foreground, two adults, one "teenager."

It's like a painting! Fall's natural canvas.
