My third shift is Making Connection,
Beware of choosing this selection—
By reaching someone,
You may well have fun,
And likely results in affection!
Today my bike tripping is ending,
I’m grateful I’ve had the time spending,
Those miles on the road,
Creating an ode,
Of biking and friendship, all blending.
Some route-days are really hard biking.
The effort they take is quite striking.
Does that mean I”m done,
With biking for fun?
Of course not. It’s still to my liking!
When all things show up in your favor,
It’s easy to take in and savor,
Without saying “why,”
And why would you try?
Just soak up the day’s special “flavor.”
The day isn’t what you expected—
The time seems adversely affected.
Expanding your view,
Of what you could do,
Reveals things as “wisely selected.”
I wonder, what constitutes resting?
A wild type of fun and some jesting?
What do you think of,
When speaking with love?
Rest comes with the care you’re investing.
A shift in the way of proceeding,
Requires that I notice my reading,
Of how that day goes.
The difference shows,
There’s more than one way of succeeding!
When you ride a trail with directions,
Expecting the signs as reflections,
Of where you will go,
And then it’s not so,
You’re likely to have some objections.
When met with a sign saying “detour,”
One juggles what’s said with the allure,
Of making it through.
But it might be true,
You’d find yourself stranded, so be sure!
A change that you’d name as frustrating,
Providing a shift that’s creating
Drier, safer trip.
Temporary blip.
Your route to adventure awaiting.
When you are assessing directions
Remember to “damp down” corrections.
The names that you know,
May only be so,
If matching the speaker’s connections.
When riding conditions are “stellar,”
It seems that there is nothing “sweller,”
Than riding your bike!
It is what you like,
Described as a glowing bestseller.
